this is like a statement to someone who would never know.

three hundred and sixty five days seems like such a long time. i walked through a safeway store tonight and remembered a girl who pranced down aisles in a dress and white flats. i remember a night standing on top of a hill looking out at the moon, it was orange-looking and it reflected on water out in the distance. i kissed you then. we drove down streets we didn't know until the hour grew late. i fell asleep that night smiling.

you hold a place in my heart.

yours truly.

Guinea Pigs to Ted Murphy?! [August 26, 2006 at 11:59pm]
[ music | Agent Provocateur - Red Tape ]

Psychology class taking the blogosphere as subjects?

I've been keeping up with bloggers throughout LiveJournal in recent weeks, and the boom about PayPerPost founder Ted Murphy has me concerned. I heard from a few friends that his intentions in creating the web site was far more than to attract active posters... I heard that PPP is actually a project created by a Cambridge, England psychology course, to monitor the desperation of internet bloggers to make money in their creative writing ability. Are we really just white mice in Ted's ominiscent eyes? I am an optimist, so I am going to pretend that he is just creating a new way to perk a blogger's ears... or inspired fingers in this case. It isn't Big Brother anymore, it is Big Murphy.

Film Review: Before Night Falls [August 26, 2006 at 11:50pm]
[ music | Dashboard Confessional - Screaming Infidelities ]

Retrospective look at the effects of censorship in society.

This film captures such a powerful perspective of Cuban Poet Reinaldo Arenas. A friend of mine had recommended this movie to me, I am so glad I ended up viewing it. The film style in Before Night Falls is very personable, taking many shots that add a unique feel to the overall theme of the movie. If you are a fan of semi-biographical films, this will be right up your alley.

%%%% Four out of five percent symbols!
The narration reminds me of Cidade de Deus, another of my favorite films. I highly recommend this film to you, it is rather inexpensive on Amazon if you are looking to take a peek. As always, if you are unable to rent this film and you're dying to see it, I could send it to you via snail mail. Cheers!

Advertising Service Review: Apogee Paid Search [August 26, 2006 at 11:23pm]
[ music | The Knife - Heartbeats ]

Search Engine Marketing that feels right for me.

There are all sorts of web advertisement services existing in this day and age, but how many actually attract positive and beneficial attention? I've been browsing advertisement companies in recent months since I opened my site, and I finally found one that will work nicely for me. Apogee Search Engine Marketing Services does a great job of vocalizing material by using unique web-tracking and monitoring to show you great results. I decided to take a look at the "Pay Per Click" features of web advertisement, to find out if it would be worth the expense.

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising is designed to charge me only when my advertisement is clicked on, making a safe call when considering a pitch going the wrong way. If the keywords I chose to use for the ad were unpopular, or if I simply wasn't getting a high level of traffic, I wouldn't be getting a broad charge for simply having the search possible. The overall manageability of Apogee appears to be great, if you are a developer or webmaster I would really recommend you take a look. Cheers!

Free Write: Calligraphy [August 20, 2006 at 1:17pm]
please read aloud:

i'd call it a serenade but words never seem to find
the amplitude or the proper destination like postage
signed sealed stamped and stranded on a sunday morning.
the floor still squeaks in hallways of midnight lovers
despite the absence of love - and the love of absence
that fit so comfortably to skinny thighs telling
stories in subtle minuets. we both seem to have our
monologues, conversations to the wall that end

abruptly

severed from sharp tongues that prove to make lacerations
to cut the conversations outside of the dotted lines.

pen your words to a pad of paper, my darling
calligraphy is an art in itself.

[ music | watching Judge Dredd. "I AM THE LUAGH!" ]

insomnia at its finest. i just uploaded my photos from today, we had a nice thunderstorm. i love standing in the rain, it seems to relax me very well. i am working with explicit media now, i am a print artist. now my excursions in illustrator have a purpose. i would like to go on a vacation i have decided. once i get some cash flow i am going to be planning some form of... escape. i'm trying to think of where to go. next saturday i am photographing a wedding, that will land me about 800 or so. thats a start, plus a paycheck in the next week or two, that will mean a nice little place in the sun for me to relax for a while. any ideas or people who'd want to rendezvous somewhere? haha.

a bit of background of who i am:

my name is taylor. i am seventeen years old. i take photographs and make graphic art. as you can see from the photos above, i have brown hair, i am pretty tall, and i live in the mountains. i plan on attending academy of art university to major in graphic design. i am generally an outgoing person, i am the one who never really has a problem walking up to strangers and talking. i love sitting in the rain, reading philosophy and enjoying the little things in life that are meaningful. i am currently not in a relationship, lets say i am looking for that late-night indie film friend still. below i will list a compilation of questions that people have asked me over time. if there is something that isn't on this list that you want to know, leave a comment and i'll answer it as soon as i can.
